The Light at the End of the Tunnel

So I was knitting along on the yoke, la la la, and all of a sudden it was long enough! So it's all over but the shouting. Or in this case, the edging. The edging is going well, but I'm a little worried about running out of yarn. This size (large) that I'm making calls for 5 balls of Calmer, and since the next size up also calls for 5 balls, I figured I'd be fine. I just don't have a clear picture of how much yarn the 11-stitch band is taking up. The color I'm using is also discontinued, so getting another ball is pretty much out. If I do run out, I could undo the whole band and redo it with a narrower, 7 or 9- stitch band. Except, I would probably never do that, and the sweater will live in nearly-finished limbo in the closet. Well, we'll see.

Reading: I've decided on Death on Demand, the first in Carolyn Hart's mystery series set in a mystery bookshop on an island. It's cute, and will probably take another hour to read.

Writing: I'm almost done with the coffeeshop scene, which will probably be half of chapter 4. It's nearly at 16,000 words. I like the way the mystery is evolving; there are a lot of suspects at this point. I think I want to try to reveal one interesting secret about one of the suspects in the second scene of this chapter.

Cooking: Not a thing since tamales. And it'll be a few days, as we're spending the weekend at my in-laws' house.

So close.... You must be pleased to have it near finished. Hope you have enough yarn.

I have a light at the end of the tunnel as well! I'm almost to the elbow on my Forecast. I think I already told you that, but I didn't tell anyone else! I hope you have enough yarn to finish. You're so close!
I'm planting the roses tomorrow. We went out to get potting soil to mix with the sifted compost today and ended up going to a few other places, too. On the bright side, I got two new pairs of flip flops - finally got to throw my old pair out!
Totally not-on-purpose: one of my new pairs of flip flops matches the color I painted my toenails this morning. I feel like I should be a cast member on Clueless, like duh!

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving the lovely comments! I just had great fun reading through your archives. I love your cats and your knitting olymphics sweater is amazing. I'm quite impressed by your writing projects as well. Will we get to see any of the drafts of the mystery? Writing fiction is one of those things I have always wished I could do but all my attempts tend to fall flat. Sadly, I think I mak a much better editor... Good luck on all your projects!

Mmmmmm. What a gorgeous blue. I used to have something I loved in that blue. . .what was it? Oh! It was the first sweater I knit for me! It's in my closet now! Ha! What a great color. I cannot wait to see how you finish it. Will you have enough for the band? The suspense is killing me!
