Thank you so much to everyone who responded here and at knitty.com to my striping dilemma on Tubey. Opinions were very widely varied, which is nice, because it means I wasn't completely off the rocker in my original color scheme. I thought it was interesting the way one person's "the blue is too bright next to the burgundy" is another person's "the blue really pops next to the burgundy". I had several great suggestions to consider, and very welcome support to boot. After *lots* of swatching, here is what I settled on, only at the bottoms of the sleeves and body:
I realized that, while I love everyone's finished Tubeys, I am not much of a horizontal stripes person in garments I wear. And I really like the mottled grey of the Cascade 220, and I'm happy to have that make up most of the sweater. I really liked the charcoal next to the lavender, and I like the positioning at the bottom of the garment. We'll see how it looks when it's finished!
Reading: Same.
Writing: I did more reworking yesterday than production in terms of word count. Still at about 12,500.
Cooking: Nothing fun. I'm making hummus to bring to a friend's house today, though.
